Why?
Taking into account the European objectives of Lisbon and Göteborg, it has now become imperative to tackle the management of cities from a sustainable angle.
Everywhere in Europe and the world in general, the issue of sustainable development in the cities cannot be avoided anymore, especially since cities tend to grow in an exponential way.
From our experience, the majority of the municipalities in the NWE area have a great will to implement sustainable development in their town-planning policies. However, one of their biggest concerns is often how to go about it.
Despite the many ideas and sustainable projects existing, carrying out a successful project from conception to materialization is still a challenge, raising questions on how to proceed and manage the many stakes involved.
How to convince elected officials, develop transversality in policies and within the administration, associate stakeholders, communicate in a sustainable way, have the population to participate, jointly integrate the environmental, social and economic dimensions in an urban project, evaluate and establish follow-up indicators, etc.
