Who?
This project is an initiative of the Walloon Region (it is supported by the Directorate General for Local Authorities, Social Action and Health - DGO 5), wich has commissioned the Union of Cities and Municipalities of Wallonia (UVCW) to ensure its development.
The Union of Cities and Municipalities of Wallonia will co-ordinate and be the Lead Partner of the future CITI-SN project and plays therefore a driving role in the design of this project. The nerve centre is located within its Europe/International Unit.
The Walloon Region was the Lead Partner of the Interreg IIIB project CITI-SN or Sus-Cit – http://www.sus-cit.org/ . The Union of Cities and Municipalities was its Coordinator.
UVCW is currently responsible for designing the project, in partnership with:
- the Association of the City and the Municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region (AVCB-VSGB),
- the Centre Ressource du Développement durable (CERDD).

Together, we intend to apply for the 6th call for proposals launched by the North-West Europe (NWE) Secretariat (deadline: April 2010) in the framework of the Interreg IVB Programme.
The Interreg IVB North West-Europe (NWE) Programme is a financial instrument of the European Union’s cohesion policy. It finances projects which encourage transnational cooperation. The aim is to identify innovative methods which make the best use of territorial assets and which tackle problems shared by the Member States, Regions and other authorities.
